BRANFORD, CT – Over the past several years a number of restaurants have tried to make a go of it at a quaint little location near the water in Short Beach.
Cibo, Che Tango, Augie’s and Jojoto have all made a try in the difficult restaurant business at that location – but haven’t lasted.

Well, another restaurant will soon be opening at that location – Rosso Vino – according to a sign outside the Shore Beach location.
The sign says “Coming Soon.” And what’s coming to the location is an eatery featuring Mediterranean cuisine and a wine bar.

The owners of the restaurant are two veterans of the restaurant business – Joe Flores – who has worked for the past decade at the well-known Adrianna’s Restaurant in New Haven and Paolo Iannaccone, whose family has been affiliated with Ristorante Luce, among others, in Hamden.
Flores said his partner, and their wives, who will be working with them at the restaurant, are shooting “for a soft opening in the third week of February.”
“I love the place,” said Flores, who said the character of the building, the neighborhood, the nearby water, was all what makes the location such a winner to him.
Flores knows that restaurants have had a checkered past at the spot – but he’s confident.
“We have no doubts we will do well,” he said. “It’s all about getting people in, to enjoy the atmosphere, the food. Once we get people in here, I am sure they’ll be back.”
Flores said he and his partner Iannaccone will be hands-on owners. “We will be here 100 percent of the time,” he said.
