Notable Branford Police Calls: Youth Drove a Vehicle on the Tisko Baseball Field
Branford police run down several notable calls for service over the past month.

BRANFORD, CT — It's been a busy past 30 days for the Branford Police Department with calls for service increasing, Police Chief Kevin Halloran told members of the Board of Police Commissioners, via meeting minutes.
According to minutes from the Sept. 12 meeting, the Police Department has handed out 424 tickets over the past month and 80 alone are for cell phone and distracted driving offenses.

- Police recovered a stolen vehicle from West Haven.
- A theft was reported from a vehicle at the Supply Ponds and windows were smashed in.
- $10,000 in precious coins were stolen.
- Vandals broke four windows on a car at Stone Gate Circle.
- A youth drove a vehicle on a baseball field at Tisko School.
- Police responded to an underage party and while investigating police K-9 Joker got the window down, got out of the vehicle and bit a youth that was near the police vehicle. A new vehicle has been designed to ensure a similar situation can't occur, according to police commission meeting minutes.
