Obituary: Agnes Dorothy Peterson Nuzzo, 89, of Branford

Agnes Dorothy Peterson Nuzzo, of Branford, passed into eternal rest on Tuesday May 10, 2016 at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Mrs. Nuzzo was born May 24, 1926 in New Haven, daughter of the late Christian and Florence Meechum Peterson. She worked for many years as a waitress at Howard Johnson's in Branford, and she also worked for Progressive Packaging in East Haven. Agnes loved animals of all kinds, especially her beloved cats.

She is survived by her son Michael Nuzzo with Karen Messina of Branford; her sister Marjorie Mendez of Deltona. FL; her grandchildren, Lisa Manzi, Jason Nuzzo, Esq., and Hannah Nuzzo Hawthorne; and Karen's daughters, Francesca, Gianna and Elena Messina. She was predeceased by her daughter Linda Savo, and her brothers, Robert E. Peterson and James A. Peterson.

Funeral from the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, Saturday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the funeral from 8:30-9:30 at the funeral home.
