Obituary: Alfred Cognato, 92, of Branford

Alfred Cognato of Branford died on Saturday April 9, 2016 at CT Hospice in Branford. He was the husband of Phyllis Vergati Cognato of Branford.

He was the father of Alexis Storo (husband Robert) of Guilford and Cynthia Linberk of Branford. He was the brother of Gabriel Cognato of Hamden. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Robert Storo Jr. and Alessa Storo. He was predeceased by his siblings Gasper, Josephine, Mary, and Carl.

Alfred was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on December 13, 1923, a son of the late Pietro and Antonina Cognato. He worked for the Modern Food Equipment Company in New Haven for more than 35 years. He loved to travel, and visited Europe several times.
