Obituary: Anderson H. "Ance" Coveyduck, Sr., of Branford

Mr. Coveyduck was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Navy.

Anderson H. "Ance" Coveyduck, Sr., beloved husband of Doris Floyd Coveyduck, died Wednesday May 18, 2016 at his home in Branford.

Mr. Coveyduck was born in New Haven, December 30, 1924, son of the late Christopher and Mary Elizabeth Miessau Coveyduck. Mr. Coveyduck was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was a member of the Trumbull Lodge No. 22 A. F. & A. M. He was an electrician and supervisor at the U. I. Company for many years until retiring.

Before becoming a supervisor, he also served as president of the . U.I. Union. Mr. Coveyduck was very proud to have been President of the Eastern Indian Neck Association for a number of years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Anderson H. (Deborah) Coveyduck, Jr., and Lillian Fike, both of Branford; his sisters, Agatha Esposito and Hilda Gam-bardella, of East Haven, Geraldine Wallace of MA, and Clara Brogan of Madison; three grand-children and five great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to calling hours Monday evening from 5-7 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, and may attend his funeral service Tuesday morning at 11:00 at the First Baptist Church, 975 Main St., Branford. Burial will be private.
