Arlene L. Schwanfelder of Branford, died Wednesday May 17, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Arlene (Leigh) was born in New Haven on March 12, 1924, daughter of the late Sidney E. and Gertrude Hadley. She was a graduate of Endicott Junior College in Beverly, Massachusetts, class of 1944.
She married William (Bill) Schwanfelder in 1947 and lived in Pawson Park in Branford where she lived until her death.

She was predeceased by her former spouse William Schwanfelder and her brother Robert S. Hadley. Leigh is survived by her sister-in-law Ann Hadley, her niece Alison (Will) Brierley and nephew Robert H. (Natalie) Hadley, all of Branford, and her nephew Scott E. (Ann) Hadley of Glastonbury. The family will be having a private service at her place of interment. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
