Obituary: Arthur Limoncelli, 51, of Branford, formerly East Haven
A talented electronics & software engineer who'd begun working on a Master's degree, East Haven was his home regardless of where he lived.

Arthur Limoncelli, 51, died at his home in Branford on February 22, 2022. Art was born at Yale New Haven Hospital on September 9, 1970. He grew up in East Haven and graduated from East Haven High School in 1988. He graduated from CT School of Electronics and shortly after attended University of Connecticut and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Art worked for many established and start-up firms over the years. He spent 11 years at ASSA-ABLOY in New Haven as a software engineer, where he earned 3 innovation patents. Art had started matriculating for a master’s degree in data science from Maryville University this past January.
Art is survived by his sister Sandra Limoncelli-Dickson of Madison, uncle to Conor and Anna Dickson of Madison, his cousin Debbie Kennedy of Branford who was like a sister to him over the last many years, and Aunt Beverly Tulchin of West Haven - along with many cousins and second cousins from both sides of his family. He is predeceased by his mother Marilyn and his father Art Sr of East Haven, his Uncle Walter Lynn Jr, who was like a father to him, as well as many other aunts and uncles. Through much of his life, he was surrounded by a large group of hometown friends who remained connected throughout life’s journeys and became like family.

A little about Art: Like most of the kids in our Momauguin neighborhood, Art would disappear on his Huffy in the morning to engage in mischief and adventure. With a car license in hand, his range expanded beyond our neighborhood, yet the spirit remained intact. He was dedicated to his friends, his mother, hockey and the beach (especially our small family beach on Hobson Street). He was never a strong student until he found his way to UCONN and kicked butt landing a job in New Hampshire at Lockheed Martin. He moved back home to get married to (his now ex-wife) Diana. Here he stayed as he found various companies who enjoyed the value of his talent. East Haven was his home regardless of where he lived - his East Haven friends were his roots and he enjoyed holidays, ski trips, weddings, births and all that life brings to friends and family. Following him from his childhood - every day for every event - and cheering him on with love and support – was Uncle Walt. Uncle Walt was Art’s #1 fan. Diana and Art graciously took Uncle Walt into their home and took care of him until his death in 2019. Art went through a difficult time more recently and emerged in the last couple of years with a renewed spirit and hope for his future, represented by his new apartment and excitement about a future career in something that’s too technical for me to describe.
The family and friends of Art will be received from 1:00 - 2:30pm, SUNDAY MARCH 6, 2022 at East Haven Memorial Funeral Home. It will be immediately followed by an informal memorial service, led by loved ones, that will end around 3:00. During this time, in the healing tradition of sharing in the presence of love, the family welcomes anyone who would like to speak out loud a positive memory of Art. There will also be an option to write a memory that can be read later.
Burial will be held at a future date.
