Obituary: Barbara A. "Bobbie" Newton, 88, of Branford

Barbara A. "Bobbie" Newton of Branford, died Sunday February 28, 2016 at home. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth E. Newton.

Bobbie was born December 14, 1927 in Clifton Forge, VA, daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Williams Armentrout. She worked for many years at the Connecticut Bank & Trust, retiring as bank manager of the Killingworth branch.

Besides her husband she is survived by her children, Jan Ponzillo of Branford, Nancy (Raymond) Briggs of Branford and Craig A. (Christine) Newton of Cumberland, RI; her grandchildren, Heather Powell, John Ponzillo, Justin McCall, Matthew Ponzillo, Patrick Newton and Victoria Newton' her great-grandchildren, Dominic Paul, McKenzie McCall, Luke Powell, Nathan McCall and Trevor Powell; and her sisters, Marion Fitzgerald of VA and Jody Hardison of FL.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service Saturday March 12 at 11:00 in the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. There are no calling hours and burial will be private.
