Obituary: Barbara Charlis Santone, 81, of Branford
She was a communicant of St. Therese Church in Branford where she taught CCD for many years.

Barbara Charlis Santone of Branford, died Tuesday December 12, 2017 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Robert L. Santone. Barbara was born in New Haven March 12, 1936 daughter of the late Donald Ciarleglio and Dorothy Shabon Charlis. She was a 1954 graduate of Hillhouse High School. She worked as an admitting officer for Yale-New Haven Hospital, and at the time of her retirement, she was the financial coordinator for the transplant unit.
She was a communicant of St. Therese Church in Branford where she taught CCD for many years. She was an active member of the YNHH Red Hat Society. Besides her husband, Barbara is survived by her children, Kenneth (Le’Ann) Santone of Madison, Cathryn (Mark) DeCaprio of Lebanon, CT, Gregory (Lila) Santone of Branford and Timothy (Gerarda) Santone of Branford; 15 grandchildren and five great-granddaughters.

She was predeceased by her sister Patricia DeFrancesco. Her family would like to thank her daughter-in-law Gerarda for the care shown to Barbara during her final illness. Her funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, Friday morning 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Therese Church at 10:00. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Friends may call Thursday evening from 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
