Obituary: Barbara M. Karge, 76, formerly of Branford

She worked as a deli clerk at Super Stop and Shop in East Haven for 20 years until retiring.

Barbara M. Karge, formerly of Branford, died Tuesday January 9, 2018 at her home in Florida. She was the wife of Maxwell R. Karge. Barbara was born in New Haven September 2, 1941, daughter of the late Peter and Georgiana Clark Teator. She worked as a deli clerk at Super Stop and Shop in East Haven for 20 years until retiring. She was a very active parent in the Special Olympic community, and was a member of St. Mary Church in Branford.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Sean Bergen of FL, Suzanne (Greg) Hannon of Cedar Park, TX and Renee Bergen (Mark) Vallas of Branford; her step-children “mom by heart” Kirk Karge of Branford, Kevin (Sarah) Karge of Branford and Keri Viviani (Jason Jensen) of Bradenton, FL; her grandchildren, Michael Pacanelli of Branford, Tyler Karge of NC, Zachary Karge of Branford and Dakota Jensen of Bradenton. She was predeceased by her siblings, Peter Teator, Jr., Donald Teator and Nancy Renpfer.

Her funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, Saturday afternoon at 12:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church at 1:00 PM.
