Obituary: Benjamin A. Zielinski, 91, of Branford

Benjamin A. Zielinski, lifelong resident of Branford, died Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at his home. He was the beloved husband of Norma Petre Zielinski., for over 70 years.
Ben was born in Branford July 1, 1926, son of the late Joseph and Helen Krakow Zielinski. He grew up on the family farm, and he continued farming his own land for the rest of his life, operating a farm stand in front of his house for years. He served in the U. S. Army National Guard, and was a member of Operating Engineers Local 478 in Hamden. He worked as an operating engineer for the Cosgrove Construction Company for many years.

Besides his wife, Ben is survived by his sons, Joseph (Anielia), Steven, Philip (Theresa) and Gary (Valerie) Zielinski, all of Branford; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph Zielinski, Laura Ashton, June Emelita and Walter Zielinski.
Funeral services and burial are private.
