Obituary: Bessie Pluskwik, 96, Formerly of Branford

Bessie Pluskwik, formerly of Branford, died Saturday June 24, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Pluskwik. Bessie was born June 5, 1921 In New Haven, daughter of the late Louis and Mary Poprelarczyck Naysnerski.

She formerly worked for Strouse-Adler before retiring. She was a member of St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church and also belonged to the Annex Senior Club and the Ridge Road Senior Club. She is survived by her son Michael Pluskwik of North Haven, her grandchildren, Anthony DePaola, Mark DePaola and Mary Tessitore and her sister Helen Dynia.

She is also survived by three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Susan Mary DePaola and her brother, Sigmund Naysnerski.

Her funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 Nort6h Main Street, Branford, Tuesday morning at 9:30 for Divine Liturgy at 10:00 at St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church, George Street, New Haven. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the funeral from 8:30 – 9:30 AM.
