Carol Heffernan of Branford died peacefully in her home on Saturday August 27. She was the wife of the late Henry Heffernan.
She was the mother of Michael Heffernan (wife Michele) of Hingham, MA, Kevin Heffernan (wife Lisa) of Glastonbury, Shaun Heffernan (wife Jody) of North Branford and Diane Queen (husband Christopher) of Branford. She was the sister of Sandra Olson of Old Lyme and Bruce Potter (wife Maria) of New Jersey, and the sister in law of Linda Potter of Branford.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kaitlin and Justin Pelazza, and Matthew, Catherine, John, Amanda, Ryan, Carolyn, and Tyler Heffernan. She was predeceased by her brother Edward Potter.
Carol was born in New Haven on June 19, 1937, a daughter of Edward and Leita Westervelt Potter. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant for the Branford Counseling Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and especially loved being at the Owenego in Branford.

Funeral services will be on Friday at 10:00 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Branford. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 P.M. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford.
