Obituary: Carol Walston Sabia, 86, of Branford
Active in her church, she was a volunteer, scout leader, and "started North Branford home meal delivery" through the Community Dining Room.

Carol Walston Sabia of Branford died Tuesday August 3, 2021 at Branford Hills Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Pasquale Sabia.
Carol was born in New Haven February 9, 1935, a daughter of the late William and Philomena Biagiarelli Walston. She worked as a bookkeeper for Harry Falkoff. She also was a very active member and sexton at the North Branford Congregational Church. She volunteered at many places and worked as a cook for the Guilford Daycare Center. She started the home meal delivery for North Branford through the Community Dining Room in Branford. Carol was also a longtime Girl Scout leader in Branford.
Carol is survived by her children, Michael Sabia, and Sandra (John) Astarita, both of Branford; her grandchildren, Nicholas and Shaun Sabia and Krista and Natalia Astarita, and her step-grandson, Jesse Melillo; her great-grandchildren, Karma, John and Celeste; her siblings, William Walston, Jr. of Hilton Head, SC, Alice Lehr of North Branford, David Walston of Reisterstown, MD, Mark Walston of Pittsfield, ME and Janet Stonick of Madison, ME. She was predeceased by her brother Edward Walston, Sr. and grandson, Michael Sabia, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours, Sunday August 15th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford and may attend her Memorial Service Monday August 16th at 10:00 in the North Branford Congregational Church. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery.
