Obituary: Caroline E. Mansfield Goeben, 87

Caroline E. Mansfield Goeben, of Simsbury, died Saturday July 22, 2017 at her son's home in Canton. Mrs. Goeben was born in New Haven March 13, 1930, daughter of the late Kenneth and Caroline Hopkins Mansfield. She loved all of the children in the day care center for the YMCA of Greater Hartford where she worked for many years until retiring.

She loved her gardens and the cottage she shared with her family in Branford, and she was an avid Tag Sale enthusiast. She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Sherry) Goeben of PA, William (Deborah) Goeben, and Jennifer (Timothy) Ward, both of Branford, Scott (Colleen) Goeben and Wayne (Donna) Goeben, both of Canton; her brother Robert Mansfield of Wallingford, and her sister Susan Zdanowicz of Branford; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother William Mansfield.Her funeral procession will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, Friday morning at 10:30 for a Graveside funeral service at 11:00 in East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.
