Catharine Shakespeare of Branford passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023. She was the life partner of the late Maggie Vastola. She was the sister of Bill Shakespeare of Southborough, MA and Judy Shakespeare of Pennington, N.J. Catherine was born in New York on May 25, 1961, a daughter of William and Anna Marie Christman Shakespeare.
Cathy, loved spending time with family and friends. She was an avid reader, devouring books daily. Her creative spirit came through in her photography, where she never missed an opportunity to capture a special shot. Even to the point of asking Maggie to pull over, so she was able to get that one perfect photograph. She enjoyed sketching and coloring and of course writing poetry, having a book of her poems published. In addition, she loved music, playing guitar and writing her own songs. So many wonderful talents.
