Obituary: Catherine J. Egan, 81, of Branford

Catherine J. Egan of Branford died Thursday May 18, 2023 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was the beloved wife of the late Roger M. Egan.

Catherine was born October 28, 1941 in Hackensack, NJ, daughter of the late Quirino and Frances Werst Vito. She had worked as an administrative assistant for Calabro Cheese in East Haven and also for H & R Block.

Catherine is survived by her daughters, Sheryl (James) Gagliardi of Branford and Lisa (Marc) Spitzner of Plymouth, MA; her grandchildren, Jaimie (Jake) Lange of Stony Creek, Michael Gagliardi of Branford, and Alicia, Patrick and Kyle Spitzner, all of Plymouth, MA; and her great-grandson Jaxson Lange of Stony Creek; her brothers Lee Vito of South Carolina and Russell Vito of Branford.

Her funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford Wednesday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Bosco Parish at St. Mary Church, Branford at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford. Visiting hours are Tuesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
