Obituary: Charles F. Ahearn, 94, of Branford
Charles worked as a letter carrier for the U. S. Post Office in Branford for thirty years prior to retiring.

Charles F. Ahearn of Branford, died Thursday November 16, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the husband of the late Charlotte Wildman Ahearn. Charles was born January 23, 1923 in New Haven, son of the late Charles F. and Mary McCarthy Ahearn. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Charles worked as a letter carrier for the U. S. Post Office in Branford for thirty years prior to retiring. He is survived by his sons, John Ahearn of Branford and James (Diane) Ahearn of East Hampton; his grandchildren, Daniel Ahearn (fiancé Jennifer Carlucci), Kelly Ahearn and Kevin Ahearn; and great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, and Logan. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Laura, Betty and Lucille Wildman and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law Doris (Andrew) Charney, and three brothers-in-law, Carl, George and Charles Wildman.Funeral from the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, Monday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday afternoon from 3:00 - 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
