Obituary: Christopher G. May, 63, of Branford
He returned to Connecticut in 1985 and went into the manufacturing industry working for several firms.

Christopher G. May passed away peacefully at Connecticut Hospice on Monday June 13, 2016 after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was 63.
Born December 24, 1952 to the late Kenneth May and Irene Homko May in Fairfield, Chris graduated from Notre Dame High School in Bridgeport in 1970.
He graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 1975 with a bachelor of science and was a member of the Alpha Gamma Chi fraternity. Chris became a teacher who taught history and geography at the middle school level in the Milford school system for five years and later at his alma mater Notre Dame High School.

In 1980 he moved to Tampa Florida and went into the restaurant industry where he ultimately managed an Italian restaurant owned by several of his fraternity brothers. He returned to Connecticut in 1985 and went into the manufacturing industry working for several firms before landing with Aluminum Finishing in Bridgeport in 2004 where he became their sales manager.
Chris was a lifelong golf enthusiast and had a passion for cooking, red wine and being at the beach which is evident by his sea glass collection. He was a lifelong Yankees, Giants and UConn Huskies fan and recently became a Patriots fan.

Chris is survived by his sisters Deb (Sam) Thorpe of Boliva, NC; Maureen Ghiroli of San Diego and brother Tim (Lynn) of Dublin, OH; nieces Megan (Calvin) Sowell, Britanny Ghiroli, April Ghiroli, Lindsay Ghiroli, Kelly May, Hannah May and nephew Ryan May and many cousins.
Chris had a tremendous work ethic but most importantly Chris liked to have a good time surrounded by food, wine family and friends of which he had many. He was best at keeping in touch with people always willing to lend an ear, have a laugh, and use his well-developed sense of humor to create a smile. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
Friends may call Thursday June 16 from 5 – 7 pm at W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 N. Main Street, Branford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday June 17 at 10:00 at St. Mary Church, 731 Main Street in Branford. Private interment.
