Obituary: Claire Murphy Daley, of Branford
She worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Max Tafel for many years before working at Yale University until she retired.

Claire Murphy Daley of Branford, formerly of Hamden, died Friday November 9, 2018 at her home in Branford. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis J. Daley. Claire was born January 5, 1928 in New Haven, daughter of the late Patrick and Helen Burns Murphy. She worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Max Tafel for many years before working at Yale University until she retired. Claire enjoyed sharing stories and cooking for her family.
She will always be remembered for her infectious laugh, sweet smile and loving heart. Claire is survived by her children, Nancy Devlin, Robert Daley and William (Jen) Daley, all of Branford; her grandchildren, Matthew and Kyle Devlin, both of Middlefield, and Erin Daley of Lakewood, CO and Kimberly Daley of Branford; and her great-grandson Nathan Devlin.

She was predeceased by her son Brian Daley and several brothers and sisters.Funeral services will be private at the convenience of her family. The W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, Branford, oversees arrangements.
