Obituary: Doreen C. DeCerbo, 60, of Branford

Peacefully on April 21, 2018, Doreen C. DeCerbo, 60, entered into eternal rest after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in New Haven on December 15, 1957 to the late Donald J. and Helen Golebiewski DeCerbo.

Doreen was the devoted mother of Daniel DeCerbo- O’Brien, beloved fiancé of Jamie O’Brien, cherished sister of Donna Florio (the late Carl Jr.) and Douglas DeCerbo (Christine) , Aunt of Nate (Jill ), Alissa (Tommy), Dana and Dennis. She received her B.S. from the University of New Haven and Masters Degree in Public Health from Southern Connecticut State University.

Prior to her illness Doreen worked at the Hospital of St. Raphael and Yale New Haven Hospital for many years. The family expresses their sincere appreciation for the tender care she received at the Smilow Cancer Hospital and CT Hospice.

Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80) East Haven Thursday morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call THURSDAY MORNING from 8:30-10:30.
