Obituary: ​Dorothy Ruth Carter Weted, 91, Formerly of Branford

She worked for many years as the billing clerk for the former Atlantic Wire Co. in Branford, until retiring.

Dorothy Ruth Carter Weted, formerly of Branford, died Saturday June 24, 2017 at Vernon Manor in Vernon, CT. She was the wife of the late John Sied Weted, SR. Mrs. Weted was born September 8, 1925 in Lynn, MA, daughter of the late Douglas and Ruth Dodd Carter. She worked for many years as the billing clerk for the former Atlantic Wire Co. in Branford, until retiring.

She was a very quiet woman who loved to sew, knit and did the most beautiful counted cross stitch you have ever seen. She loved her card games bingo and her family. She is survived by her children, John Sied Weted, JR., Joanne Weted Lewin (Thomas) and Sharon Weted Mrowka (William); her grandchildren, Jessica Gray, Shane Lewin (Amanda), Rhianna Lewin Gingras (Christopher), Erin Mrowka Garofalo (Michael), Laura Mrowka and Jonathan Mrowka; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Ryan Gray, Hunter and Bella Lewin and Hailey Garofalo; her brother Ken Carter, many nieces and nephews; and her former daughter-in-law, Deborah White. She was predeceased by her sister, Margorie Carter Gardner.

Dorothy especially loved her time with her sister and niece in Florida sitting on the lanai doing her counted cross stitch in the winter. She also enjoyed her vacations with her brother Ken Carter and sister-in-law Jean Weted.Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service Thursday June 29th at 11:00 in the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, and may call prior to the funeral from 10:00- 11:00. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
