Obituary: Dorothy Stone, 85, of Branford

Dorothy Stone of Branford, CT, formerly of Glen Cove, NY, passed away on Sunday July 2, 2023. She was the wife of the late Warren G. Stone Jr. She was the mother of Valerie Campanelli (John) of Madison, CT, Melanie Carlson (William) of Monroe, NC, and Karen McKee (Steven) of Wilmington, NC. Dorothy was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 31, 1938, a daughter of LeRoy Moran and Jean Dolinac Moran. She was the cherished grandmother of Jamie, Danielle, and William Carlson, Kaitlin Griffith (Matthew) and Tyler McKee, Michael Campanelli, and great grandmother to Tatum Griffith.

Dorothy worked alongside her husband managing their printing business for many years. She then worked as a clerk for 20 years for the Glen Cove Police Department.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. George Church in Guilford Tuesday at 11:00. Friends may call prior to the Mass at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford from 9:00 -10:15.

Burial will be Wednesday in the Locust Valley Cemetery in Locust Valley, NY at 11:30 A.M.
