Dr. Kathleen R. Degen, of Branford, died Wednesday October 4, 2017 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Kathleen was born in Astoria, Queens, New York, November 2, 1945, daughter of the late William and Kathleen McKeon Degen. She was a graduate of St. Joseph University in New York and graduated from medical school in Bologna, Italy.
She was a psychiatrist, working for Middlesex Memorial Hospital until retiring. She co-authored the book “Return From Madness.” Kathleen loved working in her garden and kayaking. She is the mother of Rose Degen (Anthony Trace) of Branford and Kurt Degen of New Haven; and the sister of Charlotte, Blake, William and Daniel Degen.

A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church of Branford, with the Rev. Skip Ferry presiding, Wednesday at 2:00 PM, with a visiting hour from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. To send flowers or a remembrance gift to the family of Kathleen Degen, please visit our Tribute Store.
