Obituary: Edward A. Flanagan of Branford

He worked in the home remodeling business for over 40 years as owner of Flanagan Remodeling., until retiring this year.

Edward A. Flanagan of Branford died Tuesday September 18, 2018 at Connecticut Hospice. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Joan O’Connell Flanagan. Mr. Flanagan was born October 2, 1936 in New Haven, son of Edward B. and Lillian Dion Flanagan. He graduated from Boardman Trade School where he specialized in carpentry.

He served in the U. S. Navy Reserves. He worked in the home remodeling business for over 40 years as owner of Flanagan Remodeling., until retiring this year. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and he enjoyed sailing and woodworking. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Laura Jean Carusone (Dante) of New Haven, Thomas B. Flanagan (Nancy) of East Lyme, Edward A. Flanagan (Susan) of Southington and Kathleen Acampora (Frank) of East Haven; and his grandchildren, Caitlin, Nicole, Frank and Shaun; and his siblings, Barbara McCurry (Mike) of West Haven, Lawrence Flanagan (Stephanie) of Georgetown, and Suzanne Purpora of FL.

Funeral from the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Saturday morning at 10 am for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church at 10:30.
