Obituary: Elizabeth LaPointe, 86, of Branford

Elizabeth LaPointe of Branford passed away at CT Hospice on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. She was the wife of the late Edward LaPointe. She was the mother of Keith LaPointe of New Haven, Beverly Cooke of Branford, Brian LaPointe (Debbie) of Florida, and the step-mother of Edward (Teddy) LaPointe of West Haven. She was the sister of Weldon Boyington (Joleen) of Alabama, Mahlon Boyington (Mae) of Florida, and Richard Boyington of Florida. She was the grandmother of Shawn LaPointe (Monique), Tiffany Banuls (Luis), Christopher LaPointe (Danielle) and Andrew Cooke. She is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Bryan Cooke, her sisters, Vivian Berry, Virginia Adams, and Mildred Viele, and her brother Ray Lee Boyington.

Elizabeth was born in Embden, Maine on October 24, 1936, a daughter of Frank and Alta Quimby Boyington.

She worked for Stop and Shop for many years. Elizabeth enjoyed knitting hats for the U.S. Military and afghans for children’s hospitals. She loved the outdoors, especially the birds and squirrels.
