Obituary: Elva Louise Hackley, 91, of Branford

Elva Louise Hackley of Branford passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday July 25, 2023. She was the wife of the late William F. Hackley. She was the mother of William Hackley Jr., and Joseph, Michael, and Richard Hackley. Elva was born on January 31, 1932, a daughter of Salvatore and Helena Katsanos Calabro.

A woman with a strong independent nature that was shared with her husband, Elva and William owned and managed many restaurants and motels over the years and are best known locally for opening My Dad’s Place Cafe in 1984, which continued operation for 14 years.

Funeral services and burial will be private. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford is in care of arrangements.
