Obituary: Esther "Monica" Schmidt Bradeen, 70, of Branford

Esther "Monica" Schmidt Bradeen of Branford died Thursday July 13, 2017 at Talmadge Park, East Haven. She is the beloved wife of Robert Bradeen. Monica was born March 31, 1947 in Rushberg, Germany, daughter of the late Reinhold and Paula Colese Schmidt.

She worked for Harco Labs in Branford for 33 years until her retirement in 2006. Besides her husband, Monica is survived by her son Andy Schmidt of Germany; her siblings, Gert Schmidt, Werner Schmidt and Carla Steffins all of Germany; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Wolfgang Schmidt.Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial gathering Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
