Evelyn E. Smith, 91, of Branford, passed away peacefully, Saturday March 9, 2019.
Evelyn was born on May 17, 1927 in New Haven, only child of the late Frederick Eberth and Barbra Edith Halsey Kapon.

Evelyn was married on August 29, 1953 to Ralph McKusick. She worked as a teacher for the Branford School System for 33 years until her retirement. Evelyn was also a member of the Masonic Family, participating in the Order of Eastern Star and the Rainbow Assembly.
She is survived by her 3 children, Ralph McKusick II (Ann) of North Branford, Leslie Pond (Henry) of Branford, and Roderick McKusick (Lee) of Palm Springs, CA.

She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Evelyn was predeceased by her beloved husband Ralph, and one grandson.

Family and friends may visit Montowese Baptist Church, 201 Quinnipiac Ave, North Haven on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10:00 am for a memorial service and celebration of Evelyn’s life. Interment to follow at East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.
