Obituary: ​Florence Ghiroli Cornachini, 87, of Branford

Florence Ghiroli Cornachini of Branford, died Wednesday September 20, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was the beloved wife of 64 years to the late George J. Cornachini, Sr.

Florence was born December 10, 1929, daughter of the late Marcello and Assensina Carloni Ghiroli and was a lifelong resident of Branford. Her family, who meant everything to her, includes her children, Marsha Lynn Cornachini (Dominick Prodoti) of Westbrook, Elise A. (Peter) Kelley of Branford and George J. (Carol) Cornachini, Jr. of Branford; grandchildren, Erin (Martin) Emerson, Ashley Kelley, Katelyn (Raymond) Beaulac, Alexa and Blake Cornachini; brother, Albert (Joyce) Ghiroli of East Haven; sister-in-law, Marge Ghiroli of Branford; and aunt Gloria Nobile of Branford; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Theresa Ghiroli and brother Dante Ghiroli.

She was a property manager for the Beazley Real Estate Company in New Haven for many years. She was a member of the Italian American Club in Branford and volunteered at the Branford Soup Kitchen. She embraced with open arms and a warm heart all who entered her home.

Her funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, Tuesday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Therese Church, Branford, at 10:00. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the funeral from 8:00 - 9:30.
