Obituary: Frances Edna Gordon, 85, of Branford
Kind and generous, she worked for Pratt & Whitney and Echlin, enjoyed travel, reading, sewing, puzzles and was an avid UCONN Women's fan.
Frances Edna Gordon, 85, of Branford, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2023.
She was the wife of the late William Gordon, Jr. Frances was born February 10, 1938, daughter of the late Ruth A. Carr and Curtis M. Bost in Hudson, New York.

She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Tootie, and her daughter Lucretia G. Harris (Dean) of Bowie, MD. She leaves behind three children: William H. Gordon III of Branford, Russell K. Gordon (Michelle Munro) of Branford, and Kimberly G. Rippy (Phillip) of Lilburn, GA; three grandchildren: Tamara Gordon of Atlanta, GA, Ruth Rippy of Lilburn, GA, and Brady Gordon of Branford; and two great-grandchildren: Raina and Xavier Gordon, as well as her beloved dog Bella.
Frances is survived by her sisters-in-law Betty G. Frazier of Moorestown, NJ, Ernestine Miller of Branford, and brother-in-law Russell Gordon of Maryland, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Frances worked for many years at Pratt & Whitney and Echlin, retiring after a long career working the third shift. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing, and working on all types of puzzles. She collected owl figurines and was an avid UCONN Women's basketball fan, so much so that you knew not to call her during a game.
She was a longtime active member of St. Stephen’s AME Zion Church in Branford and was known for her generosity and kindness.
