Obituary: Frederick H. Rathbun, 90, of Branford

Frederick H. Rathbun of Branford died Monday July 20, 2020 at Apple Rehab in Guilford. He was the beloved husband of Mary Palaia Rathbun.

Fred was born in Branford May 11, 1930, son of the late Frederick D. and Elizabeth Pernack Rathbun.

He served in the USAF as an airplane mechanic. He worked as a mechanic for many years, first at his own garage, Durham Auto Works and the at Tilcon in North Branford until retiring.

Besides his wife, Fred is survived by his children, Frederick H. Rathbun, Jr. of Westerly, RI, Karen (Rob) Piehl of Eugene, OR, Robert (Karen) Rathbun of Dayton, OH and William (Lisa) Rathbun of Branford; his sister Nellie Schmidt of Branford and his brother Allan Rathbun of Palm Bay, FL. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
