Obituary: George A. Firth Sr. 89, of Branford

George was a member of the American Legion Post 83 and a Boy Scout Leader.

George A. Firth Sr. 89, of Branford formerly of East Haven beloved husband of the late Carol Morris Firth passed away on August 1, 2018 in CT. Hospice. Loving father of Sharon Criscuolo and Susan Woods both of Branford, Clair (Harry) Shepard of Waterbury, VT and Earl Firth of New Haven and the late George A. Firth Jr. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters. Brother of Noel Firth of Vienna, VA and the late John W, Donald J and Richard A. Firth.

George was born in Hartford on August 3, 1928 son of the late George W and Maude Beaudin Firth. Prior to his retirement in 1980 George was a land surveyor for the State of Connecticut. He served his country faithfully in the Army during the Korean Conflict. George was a member of the American Legion Post 83 and a Boy Scout Leader.

His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80) East Haven MONDAY morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call on SUNDAY from 5pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CT. Hospice 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford,CT. 06405.
