Obituary: Irene Maculaitis, of Branford
She was a co-founder and co-owner, along with her husband, of Al Mac Motors and Branford Dodge.

Irene Maculaitis of 52 Twin Lakes Road, North Branford, CT died peacefully, with her family at her side on Wednesday, August 29. She was the wife of the late Alexander Maculaitis.
Irene was born in Branford, May 12, 1922, daughter of the late Ignatius and Mikalena Radovich. She leaves a daughter, Nancy Anderson (Douglas) of Denver, Colorado, two sons, Wayne Maculaitis (Anita) of Branford and John Maculaitis (Tracey) of North Branford. She was also survived by one granddaughter, Kara Maculaitis and three grandsons, Wayne Maculaitis, Jr., Patrick and Christopher Anderson; and two great grandsons, Greyson and Griffin Maculaitis. Her caregivers Lisa and Shawna McMahon were also very special to her.Irene was a member of St. Mary Church in Branford.

She was a graduate of Larson Junior College and received a degree from Quinnipiac University. Prior to her retirement, she was Vice President, co-founder and co-owner, along with her husband, of Al Mac Motors and Branford Dodge. She was President of Marc Capital Corp a family Real-estate holding business. She had been a member of the Pine Orchard Country Club, The New Haveners Club, the New Haven Council of Catholic Women and Friends of Sacred Heart. Irene was also an avid bridge player.Visiting hours will be Saturday, September 1 from 8:30 - 9:30 am at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Mary Church, Branford. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Branford Senior Center, 11 Cherry Hill Road, Branford, St. John Bosco Parish, 731 Main Street, Branford or Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
