Obituary: Jacqueline Drexel of Branford

She worked for the British Information Service in New York City during World War II.

Jacqueline Drexel of Branford and formerly of Stamford died Thursday June 16, 2016 at the Shoreline Medical Center in Guilford.

She was the wife of the late Frederick Drexel. Mrs. Drexel was born September 7, 1925, in New York City, daughter of the late Percival and Lillian Mulock.

She worked for the British Information Service in New York City during World War II, and later had a long career as a travel agent with several agencies in Stamford, including Duveen Travel, and with Pitney Bowes. She was a lover of all things British, of train travel and sailing on the QE2.

She made lasting friendships all over the world. She is survived by her sons, David J. Drexel of Branford, and John F. Drexel and daughter-in-law Maureen of Glen Ridge, NJ; and her sister Phyllis Watt of Lynden, WA. She was predeceased by her sisters, Marjorie Griswold and Patricia DieterFuneral services will be private at the convenience of her family.
