Obituary: James A. Brownell, Jr., of Branford
Jim was an iron worker for many years and went on to become the owner and operator of Creative Iron Works and Phoenix Steel.

It is with sadness that the family of James A. Brownell, Jr. announces his passing on November 25, 2016. James has gone to be reunited with his predeceased son Jimmy.
Son of the late James Brownell, Sr. and Mildred Kasner Brownell, he was born in Hartford, CT on May 31, 1939. He was the cherished husband of Patricia Brownell. In addition of his wife, Jim is survived by his children, Tracey Brownell, Scott Brownell (Kim) and Justin Brownell. Jim was an iron worker for many years and went on to become the owner and operator of Creative Iron Works and Phoenix Steel.

He also leaves three grandchildren, Conor, Carley & Kaya, whom he loved fiercely and talked about with tremendous pride. He loved his family completely and unconditionally and was proud of each and every one of them.
He also leaves behind his beloved sister Denise Libero (Pat) and five very special nieces and nephews. Jim was an iron worker for many years and went on to become the owner and operator of Creative Iron Works and Phoenix Steel. Jim was an enthusiastic sports fan.

He was especially passionate about the New York Giants and the UCONN women's basketball team.
On many Saturday afternoons during the football season you would find him sitting above portal 15 at Yale Bowl, with his son, cheering on the Bulldogs and admiring "Handsome Dan." Jim was also an avid reader and loved having his morning coffee at Branford Point watching the sunrise.
He was a proud, hardworking family man who will be greatly missed.Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday December 14, 2016 at 11:00 at St. Elizabeth Church, Branford. There are no calling hours and burial is private.
