Obituary: Jenny Patrylak, 95, of Branford

Jenny Patrylak , 95, of Branford passed peacefully into our Lord at her home on November 9, 2018. Born November 30, 1922 in Pielnia, Poland, a daughter of the late Michael and Eva Slysch. She was the wife of the late Paul Patrylak. She was the mother of Maria Radawiec (Roman). Grandmother of Peter Radawiec of Branford and Michelle Radawiec (Phillip Erusiafe) of Maryland. Cherished great-grandmother of Eva and Oliver.

She will be missed by Harley, her grandson’s dog who was her daily companion. Aunt of Juris and Paul Patrylak and a close friend of Eva Didow and Sonja Cukienda and her godson Steve and Cindy Cukienda.

She is survived by her sister Luba Sajdak of Poland and her brother Bohdan Slysch of Germany, and many nieces and nephews. She was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Ukranian Catholic Church of New Haven. She emigrated to Austria in 1941, married Paul and in 1949 they came to America for better opportunity. Jenny and Paul worked at the former MIF Co. of Branford, saved for and built their own home. She loved being outside in her garden tending to her flowers and yard. She loved making her varenyky and “chunkies.” Baba will be missed by her grandchildren Pete and Mimi and her great-grandchildren Eva and Oliver-Love you Baba.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 at St. Michael’s Ukranian Catholic Church in New Haven. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. Friends may call prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 at the W.S.
