Obituary: John E. Alleshunas, 72, of Branford

A NY Yankees fan and member of the Branford Elks Club, he worked for G.L. Gray ​for 30 years, then at Boilermakers until retiring in 2016.

John E. Alleshunas, 72, of Branford, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. He was born in New Haven on September 16, 1949. He is survived by his mother, Pearl “Pia” DePaola Alleshunas of Branford, his two daughters Kimberly Alleshunas (Frank Amatruda) and Kristi Jenkins all of Branford, his companion Holly Hellen also of Branford, as well as five grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his father Edward J. Alleshunas and his brother Edward Alleshunas.

He worked for G.L. Gray as a Fabricator and in Sales for thirty years until leaving in 2000 to work at Boilermakers as a Welder until finally retiring in 2016. John was a New York Yankee fan and a member of the Branford Elks Club.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 13.
