Obituary: John Fraenza Sr. 78, of Branford

John was the founding owner of Fair Haven Clam & Lobster for over fifty years.

John Fraenza Sr. 78, of Branford passed away December 27, 2017 at Branford Hills Health Care Facility. He was born December 14, 1939 in New Haven, to Thomas and Jennie Fraenza. John is survived by his four children; John J. Fraenza Jr. (Rose) of East Haven, Roberta Fraenza of Branford, Michael R. Fraenza (Angela) of N. Branford, and Joseph J. Fraenza Sr. of Branford.

John is also survived by his ten grandchildren who he adored, Jamie Fraenza (fiancé Joseph Gambardella), Felicia Fraenza, John J. Fraenza III (Lesley), Jessica Fraenza (Michael Maldonaldo), Julianna Paranto, Robert M. Fraenza Jr., Christopher M. Fraenza, Michael C. Fraenza, Ashley Fraenza, Joseph J. Fraenza Jr., along with eight great grandchildren and two on the way, and two sisters Carol Liqouri (Philip) of North Haven, and Mina (Phyllis) Fraenza-West of Branford.

John is preceded in death by his wife Linda Fraenza, son Robert M. Fraenza, and brother James Fraenza.
John was a wonderful man who cared for his family and friends. John was the founding owner of Fair Haven Clam & Lobster for over fifty years. John enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas with his closest friends and spending time with his grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Monday, January 1, 2017 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home) 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home at 10:40 AM on Tuesday, January 2 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Taylor Ave., East Haven with Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
