Obituary: ​Jonathan Michael Brooks, 73, of Branford

Jonathan Michael Brooks, 73, of Branford, Connecticut, beloved father of Jennifer Brooks Crozier and beloved father-in-law of Wesley Crozier, passed away on October 21, 2018 in Dallas, Texas. Jon is survived by Jennifer, Wesley, and his three adoring grandsons, James, Charles, and Henry. Jon was a dedicated and charismatic teacher, and taught history, economics, and current events at Daniel Hand High School in Madison for almost forty years.

He coached basketball at Hand for much of his time there. He was an avid fisherman, reader, gardener, and Yankees fan. He loved hiking and the outdoors. More than anything else, he loved his family—and his selfless generosity and devotion to them will live on forever in their hearts. Jon was predeceased by his beloved wife and son, Sue and Jonathan Jr., of Branford, Connecticut; his parents, Charles and Agnes Brooks of Branford, Connecticut; his brother Charles of Woodstock, Connecticut; his sister Rachel Holohan of Branford, Connecticut; and his brother Daniel of Maple Shade, New Jersey.

A memorial service will be held Monday October 29, 2018 at 6:30 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. Friends may call prior to the service from 5:00 -6:30.
