Obituary: ​Joyce Diamond Peterson, 73, of Branford

Joyce Diamond Peterson of Branford, died Monday January 29, 2018 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved wife of A. Daniel Peterson. Joyce was born in Attleboro, MA, February 11, 1944, daughter of the late John and Claire Johnson Diamond.

She was the owner of the former Branford Paint and Wallpaper and the Bayberry Inn in Branford. She was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Branford. Joyce was a hard-working, loving, dynamic personality. Whether it was at her paint store or restaurant or raising her three sons she always gave it her all. She was the type of person that would go out of her way to help her friends and even people she just met. Joyce and Dan loved to travel.

They have been to many places around the world. They also enjoyed cruises, particularly the Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria. She loved collecting antiques and going to estate sales. Joyce loved the holidays particular when it came to preparing meals, she was an outstanding chef. Joyce was always the boss and loved telling people what to do. Most of us will miss that. She will always be missed and loved by her family and friends. We look forward to being with her again.

Besides her husband, Joyce is survived by her sons, John (Daisy) Cleary of Wardsboro, VT and Kevin (Teresa) Cleary of Branford; her grandchildren, Mekella, Nolan, Brandon and Prince; and her sisters, Jacquelyn Fasulo of New Haven and Jill Ryan of Branford. She was predeceased by her son Michael Cleary, her sister Jody Diamond and her brothers, James Diamond and John Diamond, Jr.
