Judith Ann Climie, 72, of 120 Short Beach Road, passed on December 15th 2018 surrounded by her family at Yale New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. Born October 17th 1946 in New Haven to George and Anne Marie Bussmann, she was the second oldest child among six. Her brothers George, Jim, and Bill and her sisters Margie and Ammy, were her best friends.
Judy attended primary and secondary school in her native New Haven, and graduated from Cardinal Cushing College, class of 1967, with a degree in education. She eventually returned to New Haven, working at her family’s business - Seaboard Oil Company as Treasurer until 2009. She was the glue that held the office together and could be found eating her favorite bowl of cereal at her desk, making sure all the “t’s” were crossed, “i’s” were dotted, and lending an ear to anyone in need. Judy raised her family in Cheshire, CT before moving to the shoreline - Madison and then Branford - where she enjoyed beautiful ocean views with her beloved cat, Lola.

An avid sports fan, Judy enjoyed following her beloved New York Giants, Yankees, and Rangers, listening to WFAN in good times and bad, and connecting with friends and loved ones. Her true love, though, was her family, and she was always on the ready with photos of her six beautiful grandchildren for all to see. She took great pride in her relationships, sending her famous Christmas cards to hundreds of friends around the world.
Her mailing list grew each year and these missives became “must-see” for their warmth, wit, and (occasionally) embarrassing information about her three sons. A Roman Catholic, Judy attended mass for many years at St. Thomas Beckett in Cheshire, and was a regular at various churches on the shoreline, most recently at St. Therese in Branford.
