Obituary: Julie (Hrstitch) Lindberg, 61, of Branford

Julie will be remembered for her love of adventure and strong spirit. She lived a very full life and fought a valiant battle with cancer.

Julie (Hrstitch) Lindberg, 61, of Branford, entered into eternal rest surrounded by the love of her family on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Smilow Cancer Center in New Haven.

Julie was born in Bridgeport on September 11, 1954 and grew up in Stratford. After her mother Shirley's death, Julie lived with her grandparents and then was raised by her aunt, Mary Ann Bologna and her late husband, Joseph. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1972. Julie was employed at Yale New Haven University for the last 12 years as a clinical assistant. Prior to her employment at Yale, she had worked at Richardson-Vicks, Elizabeth Arden and BIC Corporation.

Julie will always be remembered for her love of adventure and being strong spirited. She enjoyed traveling and surrounding herself with people that she loved. She lived a very full life, and fought a valiant fight throughout her battle with cancer. Her daughter and granddaughters were the light of her life. Her many friends and family members supported her through thick and thin. Her family would like to acknowledge and thank all of the special people in Julie's life who helped her walk through this journey.

Survivors include her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jesus DelValle of Florida and her two cherished granddaughters, Cassandra Ashley and Alexandria; and many cousins and friends, especially the Bologna cousins whom she considered her brothers and sisters.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Julie's memory to the charity of one's choice.
