Obituary: Laura Ann Ghiroli of Branford

She never hesitated to go out of her way to lend a hand to family, friends and strangers. She loved all animals, especially her dog Finn.

Laura Ann Ghiroli of Branford passed away unexpectedly on January 3, 2019. Laura was born June 15, 1967 in New Haven, the beloved daughter of Margaret “Marge” Giovannini Ghiroli of Branford, and the late Dante M. “Bunny” Ghiroli, Sr.

Laura grew up in Branford and spent most of her life there. Laura was a creative spirit who enjoyed painting, nature and the ocean. She loved all animals, especially her dog Finn. She had a special inner beauty about her, an incredible sense of humor, an amazing laugh and gorgeous smile.

She never hesitated to go out of her way to lend a hand to family, friends and strangers. Her heart was kind and she loved unconditionally. She will be missed. Those who knew and loved Laura should take comfort in knowing that she is now free and reunited with her beloved father, her Aunt Florence, Uncle George and surrounded by light.

Besides her mother, Laura is survived by her siblings, Dante (Janna) Ghiroli, Jr. of Branford, Beth (Bob) Hulteen-Burkle of Cheshire and Christa Cusano of Fairfield. Her nephews and nieces whom she cherished as her own children include, Marissa Ghiroli and Dante Ghiroli of Branford, Brooke Hulteen and John Hulteen of Cheshire, Anthony Cusano and Ava Cusano of Fairfield, Christopher Burkle and Adam Burkle of Cheshire; and her beloved dog Finn.

She is also survived by her former brother-in-law, Glenn Cusano. Laura also leaves behind many cousins, she will be especially missed by Marsha “bossy pants” Cornachini Prodoti.Her funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, Wednesday morning at 9:15 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony’s Church, 25 Gold Street, New Haven. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford. Visiting hours will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
