Obituary: Lois Anne Jacob, 81, of Branford
Lois was the first female lifeguard employed by the State of Connecticut and fostered her love of swimming through her children.

Lois Anne Jacob of Branford, CT, died May 14, 2017 in Delray Beach, FL. She was the wife of the late George James Jacob, JR. Lois was born in 1934, and was raised in Hamden before settling in Branford where she raised her family, first in Hotchkiss Grove and later in Pine Orchard.
Lois was a prolific athlete who enjoyed tennis, golf, water skiing and especially swimming. Lois was the first female lifeguard employed by the State of Connecticut and fostered her love of swimming through her children, and co-founding and coaching the Stingrays swim team in Branford. Lois loved the water and spent as much time as she could on the Long Island Sound fishing, clamming, swimming and boating. She loved cruising in her boat through the Thimble Islands.

Lois spent much of her life as a stay at home mom and later worked for the State of Connecticut, from which she retired. Lois is survived by her children, George Jacob IV, Thomas (Sharon) Jacob, Alice Miller, Mary (David) Graybeal, Roberta Jacob; and her grandchildren Thomas Jacob, JR, and Christopher Hoffman Jacob. Lois was predeceased by her brothers Colonel Leo Paradise and Robert Paradise and her grandson Joseph James Miller.
Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Friday August 4, 2017 at 10:00 in Saint Mary Church, Branford. Burial will be private. THERE ARE NO CALLING HOURS.
