Obituary: Lt. Harvey W. Barker, USN, Ret., 80, of Branford

Lt. Harvey W. Barker, USN, Ret., 80, of Branford died peacefully on January 4 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. He was the husband of Jacqueline Adams Barker. Harvey was born in Hickory, N.C. on August 24, 1937.
Harvey served honorably for 21 years in the U.S. Navy. He was an avid boater and fisherman. He also volunteered with the DEP restocking the local rivers. He was also a member of the “Old Farts” breakfast club in Branford.

He is survived by his three daughters, Katherine Barker, Karen Allen (Peter) and Kristin Campbell. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Jay Adams, Bruce Adams (Kirsten) and Bethany Adams Fortier (Rick). He leaves two brothers, William Barker (Barbara) and Brent Barker. He leaves his grandchildren Heather Allen Wolfe (Timothy), Raymond Stebbins, Jonathon Campbell, Brian Barker, Ryan Adams, Tyler Stebbins, Kyle Adams, Janice Campbell, Grace Adams and Samantha Barker, as well as his great-grandchildren, Mason Wolfe and Emma Wolfe. He was pre-deceased by his son Kevin Barker. A memorial service is planned at the First Baptist Church for Saturday January 13 at 10:30 A.M.
The church is located at 975 Main St. Branford, CT. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford is in care of arrangements.
