Obituary: Madelaine Gorski, 75, of Branford

Madelaine Gorski of Branford passed at her home in Branford on Thursday May 10, 2018. She was the beloved wife of Paul Gorski of Branford. She was the mother of Michael Gorski (wife Melanie) of Clinton, Paul Gorski (wife Joyce) of South River, N.J., and Thomas Gorski (wife Candelaria) of Cancun, Mexico. She was the sister of Paul Phenix of Melbourne, FL, Yvette Chambers of Branford, Mary Phoenix of Sedona, Az, and John Phenix of Old Tappan, N.J.

She is also survived by her granddaughters Emma and Amanda. She was predeceased by her sister Jeanette Mercugliano. Madelaine was born in New Haven on November 12, 1942. She was a daughter of the late Paul and Alice Thomas Phenix. Madelaine worked for the Equitable Life Insurance Company and the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.

She loved gardening, and also enjoyed boating and spending her winters in Florida.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 at St. Mary Church in Branford. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. Friends may call Tuesday from 4-7 P.M. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford.
