Margaret “Peggy” King, a lifelong resident of Branford passed away peacefully on Monday May 9, 2022 at her treasured Summer Island home. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald J. King. Peggy was born in New Haven March 16, 1928, daughter of the late Leo V. and Anna Kaminski Morawski. Peggy is survived by her children, Patricia A. King-Fairty (Jay) of Branford, Valerie A. King (Larry) of Canby, OR, DJ King II (Sue) of Branford and Kyle J. King (Kathleen) of Guilford; her sisters, Valerie Erickson and Anne Freund both of Branford; her brother David (Betty Lou) Morawski of Madison; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Leo T. Morawski.

Peggy was a dedicated communicant of St. John Bosco Parish and a talented member and past president of the Branford Garden Club. Her greatest joy was her growing family and she enjoyed spending time with them and her many friends at her shoreline home and in River Ranch, FL. She had a love for golf and entertaining and was an avid sports fan always found in the stands cheering for her family. Cooking and baking was Peggy’s greatest passion and she was very skilled in the kitchen, her recipes loved by so many that we have even considered auctioning off her most famous recipe cards to the highest bidder. Grammy, as she was known to everyone, had a feisty spirit and humor that will be missed by all that knew her.
