Obituary: ​Margaret Soong Meow Lee, 78, of Branford

She was the beloved wife of Dr. Henry Lee. She worked for the VAMC in West Haven as a researcher for twenty years until retiring.

Margaret Soong Meow Lee of Branford died Tuesday August 1, 2017 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Dr. Henry Lee.

Mrs. Lee was born in Sarawak, Malaysia, April 16, 1939, daughter of the late Soong Kong Wing and Chu Womia. She was a graduate of the University of Taiwan with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She was a school teacher in Sarawak for many years until moving to New York and continued her teaching career in New York City.

She received her Master’s Degree from Long Island University, and after retiring from teaching she worked for the VAMC in West Haven as a researcher for twenty years, until her retirement.

Besides her husband, Margaret is survived by her children, Sherry Lee (Ted) Hersey of Glastonbury; her son Dr. Stanley (Romy) Lee of Wallingford; and her grandchildren, David, Rachel, Joseph, and Alex. She is also survived by a brother, a sister and other family members in the United States, Singapore, Taiwan, China and Malaysia.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service Friday morning at 10:00 in the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford.
