Obituary: Marie Behrens Lynch, 94, formerly of Branford

Marie Behrens Lynch of Leesburg, FL passed away peacefully on December 13, 2021 in the presence of family members.

She was born in East St. Louis, IL on July 11, 1927 to Edward Behrens and Catherine (Venneman) Behrens.

She met her husband, William C. Lynch, in Washington, DC where he was studying at George Washington University Law School. They married and had eight children, settling in Branford, CT where she was a member of the Branford Garden Club and the Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club. She enjoyed bridge, gardening, and travelling and spent time as a World Book sales representative, sharing her passion for education.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her children, James and Joanne Lynch.

She is survived by her children, Robert W. Lynch (Andrea) of Bluffton, SC; Marianne Hird of Madison, CT; Sueanne Curley of Branford, CT; Richard W. Lynch (Marilyn) of Guilford, CT; Carol Anne Lynch of West Springfield, MA; and Holly Anne Evans (Woody) of Alexandria, VA; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date and limited to family members.
